Personal data collected (the “Site”) is owned by Salford City Council and is operated by IN4.0 Group. At IN4.0 Group, we take your privacy very seriously and steps are taken to ensure your privacy is protected at all times. IN4.0 Group collects personal information about you on behalf of The Home of Skills & Technology (HOST Salford) in order to provide you with the very best customer experience and one that is personalised and catered to you. It allows us to alert you to administrational, product or service changes, and for marketing purposes. We gather this information about you when you engage in the following ways:

• You register with or subscribe to and marketing channels • You register on the MyHOST app. • You use our online services and place orders • You sign up to competitions or special offers • You interact with us online via social media, digital advertising on our or any other website where HOST Salford is represented • You ask for information, provide a testimonial or feedback, comment on blogs and articles that are represented by HOST Salford. • You attend an event hosted by us or where we are acting as sponsor

When you register your personal information with HOST Salford, you consent to the use of your personal data in line with HOST Salford’s Privacy Policy. If you are under the age of 16, you must inform a parent or guardian about our privacy policy and obtain their agreement to this privacy policy before using any of our online services, including, but not limited to, registration with HOST Salford, subscribing to our newsletter or placing an order with us.

What personal data is collected

We may collect and store information that includes, but is not limited to, the following information about you: • Title • Your name • Delivery & billing address • Phone number • Email address (collectively ‘Your personal data’) For programmes we may also collect further information from you which will be used solely for the operations of the programme and statistical reasons. This information may include “Special Category” or sensitive information which may include, but is not limited to: • Ethnicity • Religion • Disabilities • Sexuality • Gender identity

How we use your personal data

Your personal data enables us to provide the following; • A personalised service on the site which is targets information, services, content and offers relevant to you • To alert you to any administrational, product or service changes • For marketing purposes such as competitions, promotions, or marketing events, etc.

In the event you do not wish for us to use your personal data for marketing purposes, please either: • Click on the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in the emails we have sent you (if any). • Contact our Customer Service Team via emailing and if you wish to be removed from our marketing database.

We will never collect personal data about you without your explicit consent. We will retain the data until the time at which you decide to ‘unsubscribe’ (as above). HOST Salford will also conduct an annual review of all data held by the company.

You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us at and we will provide this information within 30 calendar days of receipt of the information request. A £10 administration fee will be charged for unreasonable and repetitive requests. If you find any inaccuracies, we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information that we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal data handling policy and the law.

HOST Salford and its operator IN4.0 Group will neither sell your personal data to third parties nor market it elsewhere. The employees of IN4.0 and its subsidiaries are duty-bound to respect the confidentiality of your data and abide by the UK’s Retail Codes of Conduct. If you wish to discuss the personal data we hold about you or make a complaint, please contact in the first instance in order that we can investigate thoroughly.

Automatically recorded information

When you access HOST Salford’s website, general non-personal information (Internet browser used, number of visits, average time spent on site, pages viewed) is recorded automatically (not as part of website maintenance). This information is used to gauge our website’s appeal and to improve its content and functionality. Your data is not processed any further nor is it transmitted to any third parties.


MyHOST is an application (app) owned by HOST Salford. This use of the app is an essential part of membership to HOST, which allows us to streamline the services and make the membership experience a more simplified and enjoyable experience.

As the primary digital portal to HOST Salford’s physical location, visitors may have to use and interact with the app as well, for example when registering for an event at HOST Salford.

As part of this essential service, data is collected and processed by HOST and our third-party data processor Nexudus. The involvement of Nexudus is necessary as the host platform for the MyHOST app.

As such Nexudus acts a data processor on behalf of HOST Salford. This means that they process your data to the extent of ensuring the data is securely stored within the European Union in compliance with European GDPR (2018) and the UK Data Protection Act (2018). Neither HOST nor Nexudus will share or process your personal data further than what is necessary. Nexudus, as a data controller does not access a user’s personal data unless required to do so by law, for example, due to a court order or a subject access request by a user.

Your rights as an individual are not effected by this data processing agreement, nor any clause within this privacy policy.

Changes to our privacy policy
